If I talk to advertising professionals everyone seems to be haunted by the same question: Will AI replace human jobs? Well, that’s a very valid question.

We see posts everywhere from advertising executives stating that AI cannot replace creativity or strategic thinking. I couldn’t agree more.

But the fact remains:
AI will continue automating some tasks, and agencies have to address the changes it has brought to our industry and will bring even more.

AI doesn’t replace us, it’s here to elevate us.

Automation of repetitive and time-consuming activities by AI frees our most valuable asset: time.

Time, so we can return to what humans do best: strategic thinking, creativity, and meaningful client relationships.

Here are my points where I believe AI will not replace us?

1️⃣ Creativity and Conceptual Thinking

AI can analyze data and even generate content, but it lacks the nuanced understanding and emotional intelligence that humans bring to the table. Our ability to think conceptually, to create stories that resonate on a deep level—that’s uniquely human.

2️⃣ Strategic Insight

Humans excel at seeing the big picture, understanding client needs, and crafting strategies that align with brand values and market trends. AI provides the data; we provide the wisdom.

3️⃣ Building Relationships

Trust and rapport are built through human interaction. Our clients value partnerships with people who understand their vision and can navigate the complexities of the human experience.

But one thing is for sure: With rapid ideation, automated workflows, and new ways of producing customer-centric communication, AI is going to change our industry.

This is why I propose agencies start a controlled change process now.
